The passion, mission and life work of Dr. Jane Goodall is being commemorated at The National Geographic Museum’s new exhibit, BECOMING JANE: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall, in Washington, DC, in partnership with the Jane Goodall Institute https://www.janegoodall.org/ A chronological journey, the exhibit follows Goodall’s life from her early years with an affinity for wildlife in Africa through her time working as a scientist and activist in Gombe, Tanzania.

This new, immersive multimedia exhibit accurately follows the evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall known the world over for her trailblazing global community conservatism and behavioral research of chimpanzees.

Her story, told through a hologram-like projection, multi-screen experiences, iconic images, and a 3D exploration of Tanzania's Gombe Stream National park celebrates the past, present, and future of Goodall’s scientific achievements. It offers a window to her fascination and understanding of the urgent need to protect the chimpanzee from extinction.

Each station depicts a different stage of Goodall’s life, starting as a child and on through adulthood. Her love for wildlife took her to all parts of the globe to explore and brave the unknown. On display are the many elements she brought with her on her journeys like notebooks and binoculars. Her beloved stuffed monkey is also on display.

Goodall’s explorations helped develop groundbreaking approaches to global community conservation. Her studies of species conservation is an interconnected one where the lives of all individuals, animals and the environment are honored.
